Barcelona Star Says They Were Happy To Be Drawn Against Arsenal in the Champions League And Here Is Why

DANI ALVES has revealed Barcelona were solon than contented to arrive up against Arsenal in the Champions Association end 16.

Dani Alves, who now has 3 Champions League medals to his name,came out to admit that that the Catalan club were not disappointed when Arsene Wenger's side were pulled out of the hat.

"When the draw was made, we knew it could have been tougher for us," Alves said.

"That is no reflection on the quality of Arsenal.

"The quality of the way they play the game and the quality of some of their players is there for all to see.

"It is a reflection on their experience, character, and mental strengths.

"There are teams in Europe that don't have the quality that Arsenal have, but you would rather avoid them and play Arsenal - because you know that those teams have experience and character."

A lack of experience is not an accusation that can be levelled at Alves.

Alvas, who is the most experienced foreigner in terms of appearances ever to play in the Spanish top flight with a massive 400 games to his name and he has won the title five times.

And of course, he is on course to add yet more silverware to his cabinet this season with Barcelona 8 points clear on top of the La liga standings and are already in Copa del Rey final.

But despite the fact that they are almost in the Champions League quarter-finals as well, the defender claims there is no complacency in the Camp nou.

"We do have strength, and not one player is thinking the tie with Arsenal is over," Alves added.

"It is half time and we have put ourselves in a good position, but it is no more than that.

"Arsenal do have quality, and when they are at their best they can achieve special things, so from us there will be no complacency.

"It is not just consecutive Champions League titles we are chasing but also consecutive trebles.

"It is a big challenge, but all the players are dreaming big."
